UFC 207 will end another exciting year of mixed martial arts for the UFC.
With former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey set to headline the card in her first fight since losing for the first time in her professional mixed martial arts career, many fans are anxiously awaiting to see how she performs.
Rousey will face the newly crowned UFC women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes in a five-round title fight in which Rousey will look to get back to the top of the division.
Amanda Nunes will be no easy task as the fierce striker and Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt will look to be only the second woman to beat Rousey in professional mixed martial arts.
Nunes who holds a professional MMA record of 13-4 with going 6-1 in the UFC is coming off the biggest win of her career. Nunes became the UFC women’s bantamweight champion with a dominant performance over Miesha Tate in the main event at UFC 200.
Nunes hurt Tate early in the first round on their feet trading strikes and eventually locked a rear-naked choke on Tate forcing her to tap at 3:16 of the very first round. Nunes is on a four-fight winning streak with her last loss coming against Cat Zingano at UFC 178.
Ronda Rousey holds a 12-1 professional MMA record and is also 6-1 in the UFC. Rousey’s win record is undeniably impressive with finishing all of her opponents in the first round with the exception of her second fight with Miesha Tate where she ended up submitting “Cupcake” in the third round by armbar.
It has been over a year since Rousey last fought where Holly Holm shocked the world and knocked Rousey out in the second round of their fight at UFC 193 back in November, 2015.
