E! News reports that Ciara and Wilson were married on Wednesday in Peckforton Castle in Cheshire, England. Earlier that day, Wilson tweeted, “Overflow of Blessings! God is so good!”
Today is a very special Hump Day for Ciara and Russell Wilson — the two gorgeous stars have officially tied the knot!
The R&B diva and the Seattle Seahawks quarterback became husband and wife on Wednesday, July 6, at Peckforton Castle, an expansive and stunning property in Chesire, England.
They celebrated with about 100 family members and friends, including bridesmaids Kelly Rowland, Lala Vasquez, and Jennifer Hudson (below). Unfortunately, celeb bridesmaid Serena Williams had to bow out last minute due to her Wimbledon semifinals tennis match. #FamousPeopleProblems, amirite?
Despite the wedding date being revealed ahead of time, the celebration itself was very private. According to TMZ, guests had to fork over their phones so no pictures of the bride and groom would leak to the press.
They were also told to meet at a location separate from where the ceremony would take place to “ensure privacy,” Billboard reports.
The bride and groom celebrated their rehearsal dinner one night prior at Liverpool’s Titantic Hotel. Cici was looking every bit the stunning bride in a white flowy gown, while her man opted for all-black:
Unfortunately we didn’t get a glimpse of 2-year-old Future Zahir, the “1,2 Step” singer’s son (who probably also served as ring bearer).
It’s good to know not even legal drama between Ciara and her baby daddy ex, rapper Future, could rain on her wedding parade. Reports surfaced just days before the wedding that Cici is suing him for defamationand she claims he threatened her now-husband, Russell.
The newly-minted model and the NFL star started dating in April 2015 and got engaged in March 2016during an extravagant vacation to Seychelles.
They’ve been PDA and gushing about each other throughout the course of their relationship ever since, and even opened up about how they planned to remain abstinent until they got married.
Let’s hope Peckforton Castle has a swanky honeymoon suite…
Congrats, you two!
