The Cure For A New Generation of HIV Infection

This Friday, a new anti-HIV drug was approved on Monday, which combines four drugs to fight the virus that causes AIDS.

The tablet contains two previously approved antiviral drugs, emtricitabine and tenofovir disoproxil fumarate. These drugs in combination with two new drugs: elvitegravir and cobicistat become much more effective.

Elvitegravir encounters one of the HIV enzymes that multiplies, causing damage to the body. Cobicistat prolongs the effect of elvitegravir.

Studies have shown improved performance of the drug compared to others.

1.2 million Americans have HIV infection, which develops into AIDS without treatment with antiviral drugs. AIDS affects the body’s immune system, leading to the development of infections that ultimately lead to death.

Patients can live a relatively healthy, normal lifestyle with antiviral medications.

Like most other HIV drugs, Stribild will have dangerous side effects, including severe liver dysfunction and lactic acid buildup. More common side effects are nausea and diarrhea.

The drug has been successfully tested and can be supplied to the market.
