Take a shot with Kentucky

Last week, I gave a lot of weight to Florida’s loss to Kentucky being better than Mississippi State’s loss to Kentucky (and won with the Gators), but somehow I didn’t give the Wildcats enough credit for beating both and went against them with South Carolina (24-10 win at pick ’em). Well, here we find Kentucky being disrespected by the oddsmakers at Texas A&M and I’m grabbing the points in a matchup I feel should be a lot closer to pick ’em.

Granted, A&M nearly beat Clemson and probably played No. 1 Alabama closer than any other opponent, but I can’t see these Aggies getting up for this game — just like they let lowly Arkansas stick around last week before beating the Razorbacks only 24-17 as 20-point home faves.

The play: Kentucky +5 ¹/₂. I give the Wildcats the edge in the running game (especially because QB Terry Wilson is more of a threat with his legs than with his arm) and defense. They have a great shot at the outright upset.
